Exercise is an important part of any weight loss regimen, regardless of whether you take weight control supplements or not. One of the biggest issues that most adults have with staying fit is the fact that they spend a large portion of their week at work. It’s hard to keep your body moving when you’re stuck behind a desk all day. Luckily, there are some simple tricks you can use to stay active at work no matter what. Check out these tips for staying fit on the job and burning fat.
Volunteer For Active Assignments
Most people make fun of the guy at work that has to fetch everyone’s coffee, until they realize he is twice as thin as they are. Sometimes it pays to do a little running around for the sake of a business. If there are some dreaded tasks in your office space that no one wants to do, pick them up to boost your activity levels. That way you don’t end up sitting in front of the computer all day building a barrel around your waist.
Walk To Lunch
If you normally go to a fast food drive thru when you take your lunch break, consider walking to your lunch destination instead. This may limit your options in some areas, so note that this isn’t a suggestion for everyone. If you have a lot of restaurants in your area though, you may be able to get some exercise from walking to get lunch. That would also give you a chance to walk off any weight that you put on eating because you will have to make it back to work. If you’re running late, that may even mean that you will have to run. Do this a few times a week, and you should see a big difference in your weight over time.
Park In The Back Of The Parking Lot
Rather than parking in the front row where the prime spots may be, try parking way in the back. This will make you walk all the way to the front of the building to get into work, and it will force you to repeat that process when you get off. Just make sure you allot a couple extra minutes before you get to work to account for the walking time. Once you get in the habit of parking in the back, it will become second nature to you.
Move Around In Your Office Chair
In a last minute effort to stay active at work, try swiveling back and forth in your office chair. This may not make you drop any weight, but it will improve your circulation and it may help tone your ab muscles along the way. Some people go as far as substituting an exercise ball for their office chair to keep them in constant motion. You will obviously need approval from your supervisor before doing that. Keep an eye out for creative ways to stay active at work, and you’ll be on your way to losing weight in no time.
